Summary
DCI Barnaby and his new assistant, Sergeant Dan Scott are called upon to solve a series of crimes in Midsomer County, England. The green man: Troy passes his inspector's exam and has one last case with Barnaby. Bad tidings: Barnaby's new partner gets a baptism by fire with a case implicating Cully's old schoolmates. The fisher king: A maze of Celtic rites masks a murderer. Sins of commission: The detectives discover a hotbed of corruption within a highbrow literary crowd. The maid in splendour: A local pub figures in a case involving secret business deals and unrequited love. The straw woman: Scott becomes bewitched by a village schoolteacher as he and Barnaby unravel a centuries-old mystery. Ghosts of Christmas past: Barnaby escapes from Christmas with his in-laws only to be thrust into the shadowy world of the Villiers family
